About us

At Laser Bar, located in Barrie, Ontario, we offer a wide range of services including laser hair removal, tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation, and hair restoration. Our team consists of laser technicians and medical estheticians who are dedicated to ensuring that all of our client's skin and hair needs are met. We use the latest technology in all of our services to provide our clients with safe, effective, and affordable treatments.

Our story

Laser Bar started as a small home-based business back in 2019, offering laser hair removal services on weekends and evenings. It was clear to owner operator, Navi, that affordable laser hair removal was important to the citizens of Barrie as she quickly outgrew her home and expanded into a commercial unit. Laser Bar was designed with our client's needs and wants in mind, and has expanded beyond laser hair removal into skin treatments and tattoo removals, too.

Our goal

Our goal has always been to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, regardless of their age, gender, or background. We believe that self-care is for everyone, which is why we have a diverse client base, including many male clients. We strive to provide a comfortable atmosphere for all, and we're excited to continue growing and expanding our services to meet the needs of our clients.

Navi

Owner Operator (Laser Technician)

Navi is a former corporate professional with 10+ years of experience in business and purchasing. After obtaining an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo and a Master's in Business from Ryerson University, she switched gears to become a Laser Technician. Navi's favourite part of this work is seeing how laser hair removal and other treatments can completely change people's lives by helping them feel more confident in their skin. A fun fact about Navi: She originally went to beauty school to become a hair and makeup artist before pivoting to laser technology. In her free time, Navi is a proud mom to a 2-year-old boy and a dog named Toby.

Brooke

Medical Esthetician

Brooke is a highly qualified Medical Esthetician with a background in business that gives her a unique perspective on the industry. With a diploma in medical aesthetics, Brooke has a deep understanding of the treatments she performs and an eye for detail that ensures her clients receive the best possible care. Despite her busy schedule, Brooke always makes time for her loved ones and enjoys spending time with them. Whether she's performing laser hair removal, administering a facial, or recommending the best skincare products, Brooke's goal is always to help her clients look and feel their best. Her favourite part of the job is getting to know new clients and building relationships with them over time.

Hailey

Medical Esthetician

Hailey has had a love for the beauty industry since she was a young girl. Struggling with her own skin concerns, she made it her mission to take care of others and bring that confidence back to them. With a diploma in Esthetics and Spa Management and a background in nutrition you’ll find Hailey’s main focus is to create a safe and welcoming environment for clients and personalizing each appointment to suit their needs. When she’s not at work she’s normally at the beach with a good book, spending time with family or exploring new places. With pursuing her career as a Medical Esthetician, her goal is to create a bond with each and every one of her clients making them feel understood of what their treatment goals are while bringing them the best results possible. Her favourite part of the job is giving her clients the results they want and educating clients on the benefits of ingredients, nutrition and their lifestyle choices.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, we have two gift certificate options. You may purchase an e-gift card online here or you may purchase a physical gift card in person at Laser Bar.
What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit or credit for payment.
How do I order products that you carry?

Our skincare products can be purchased in person at Laser Bar or online here.
Why are your prices lower than other laser clinics?

Our goal is to provide affordable laser treatments to our clients. We do not believe that laser treatments need to be expensive (despite using top of the line technology) and that it should be accessible to as many people as possible.
Which skincare products do you carry?

We currently carry Skinbetter Science, GlyMed Plus, Actiiv and Bushbalm.
Which services do you offer?

We offer laser treatments, including laser hair removal, tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation and non-invasive hair restoration. We also have a Medical Esthetician who offers facials, chemical peels and hydrafacials, as well as nurses on site offering botox, fillers and injectables.
What is your cancellation policy? How do I cancel an appointment?

Clients must provide 48 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment. Less than 48 hours notice will result in a 50% service fee. Your appointment can be changed online though the booking system or by texting/calling 705-333-3773.
Why do you require a credit card at booking?

A credit card is required to hold your booking. Due to the number of no shows and last minute cancellations, we have changed our policy and there is a 50% service fee for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice and 100% service fee for no shows.
Do you treat men and women?

Yes, we are an inclusive environment, and we offer treatment to all clients, regardless of how you identify.
Why do I need a consultation?

A consultation is required to identify your skin and hair needs to provide you with the best possible solution. A patch test is also required prior to any laser treatments.
Can appointments be booked online?

Yes, appointments can be booked online here.
How many treatments are required?

Most clients require 6-12 treatments which are spaced 4-8 weeks apart.
Does laser hair removal hurt?

Soprano ICE’s SHR technology is the only clinically proven method of laser hair removal that is virtually painless. The ICE technology cools the skin surface, preventing superficial burns and pain.
What is the minimum age for laser hair removal?

Clients under 18 can be treated with parental consent.
Which equipment do you use for laser hair removal?

We use the ALMA Soprano ICE Platinum for laser hair removal.
Can I get laser hair removal over tattoos?

No, laser hair removal cannot be done over tattoos. We will have to treat around the tattoo.
Which skin tones can you treat?

The Soprano ICE Platinum can treat all skin tones, including dark skin.
How often do I need to come in for treatments?

Treatments are spaced 4-8 weeks apart.
What do I need to do to prepare for my treatment?

All clients are required to come in for a consultation (without shaving) to discuss preparation prior to the treatment.
Which colour hair can be treated with laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal can treat all hair colours, with the exception of red, white and grey.
Do the treatments hurt?

The DYE-VL treatments for skin rejuvenation can be slightly uncomfortable. However, most clients would not classify it as painful.
Which skin tones can you treat?

We can treat all skin tones with the HarmonyXL Pro.
Which equipment do you use for this?

We use the ALMA HarmonyXL Pro with DYE-VL and ClearLift technology.
How many treatments are required?

Depending on the treatment plan, 2-6 treatments may be required.
How many treatments are required?

Tattoo removal requires anywhere from 6-10 treatments depending on whether you are looking to just lighten your tattoo or fully remove it. The treatments are spaced 8 weeks apart, so it takes a full year to complete six treatments. You will see significant reduction in pigment with just the first couple of treatments.
Which skin tones can you treat?

We can only treat light skin tones for tattoo removal. It is best to come in for a consultation to determine if you are a candidate for laser hair removal.
Which equipment do you use for this treatment?

We use the ALMA HarmonyXL Pro with ClearLift technology.
Does tattoo removal hurt?

Most clients describe the tattoo removal treatment as a pinch. The discomfort level will vary depending on the area being treated. Some areas will be minimally uncomfortable, while others will be more uncomfortable.
Which equipment do you use for hair restoration?

We use the ALMA TED technology for hair restoration.
Does hair restoration hurt?

No, TED treatments do not hurt. There is no discomfort, no pain, no needles and no blood involved.
How many treatments are required?

We recommend 3-4 treatments depending on the severity of the hair thinning.
Is this treatment suitable for men and women?

Yes, we have seen success with both men and women dealing with hair loss.
Can I continue to use Rogaine or other topical hair treatments?

Yes, you do not need to discontinue use of any medications or treatments you are currently using.
